I stumbled across the Valley Riding Inc. Web site, and I am so happy to see how vibrant and lovely the old stables are! I spent many a Saturday taking lessons there in the 1980s. I have so many great memories. Hopefully, in a few years my own children will be able to attend a horse camp during the summer.
In the meantime, I will definitely check in and stay posted about your events and fundraising activities.

Dear Anna, what a surprise to see your comments.
Your father was a kind and gentle man. I took many private riding lessons from him, for a couple of years. He taught me so much. I met your mom also one time.
I was a graduate of the College of Wooster and talked of it often. He wanted you to go there, and I think you did.
I currently live in Medina, Ohio. Your dad came here to inspect this old, near condemned Victorian house my husband and I considered buying in 1985. He told us it was very structurally sound, and if we didn’t buy it, he would, lol. We have been working on the restoration ever since.
What a nice guy. °•○♡
I ended up owning five horses and two ponies. I kept them all until their passing, at very old ages.
P.S. When I was a little girl, I lived just off Puritan Avenue in Cleveland. I was always in trouble for going down to those stables.
I was trying to view the photos but when you click on most of the photos, another image pops up. Any way of correcting this? I am interested in both boarding and facilities. Thank You.
So sorry about the problems you are experiencing with our facility photos! We will let our web designer know about this glitch. In the meantime, we would be happy to email you photos of the facility and/or arrange a tour at your convenience. Thank you for your interest in Valley Riding and please feel free to contact us with any questions. Christa
I am thinking about relocating from California to the Westlake area. I will bring my hale and hearty 23 year old American Quarter Horse with me. I am concerned about the long cold winters. Is there any sort of heat in the boarding area of the barn. Even 45 degrees is warm compared to the outdoors during some winter months in Ohio. Thanks.
We are not a heated facility so it is cold, but the windows are closed and doors mostly closed during the winter months. Most people blanket their horse over the winter.
Lakewood Stables, now Rocky River Stables, was my home away from home in the mid to late 60’s! I think one of the Corrigan girls, Marty, is still active there, and maybe Margaret McElhaney. I’m pleased to still be in touch with Trish Tarr and Ann Worden all these years later! I dearly miss those days.
This was my young girl life, I love this place, I am moving back to Cleveland soon and will be residing to a close area from Seattle. My lifelong Retired mare is close to 30 now and coming with me. Looking for a great safe and close place for her land. Hoping to get there fall of this year. 2022.
All participants are required to fill out a waiver / release form, which should be returned or mailed to us. Please refer to the program/lesson page for specific requirements, conditions and costs. The required waiver forms for each type of class/lesson can also be found below.
